Cassia Silk Stripe takes its cue from antique embroidery, the design screen-printed by hand onto a ground of hand-dyed raw silk. Tonal variation and a delicate sheen run through the stripe, and subtle irregularities—the hallmarks of authentic handwork—give the pattern its character. The effect is both rich and restrained.
Made in the United States, it is 86 centimetres wide with a 64-centimetre vertical repeat and a 27-centimetre horizontal repeat. Sold by the metre from rolls of 7.312 metres, it is spongeable and suited to walls where texture and a quiet lustre are wanted. The design is also available as a fabric.
