Schumacher | Chahal Hand Woven Brocade

Chahal Hand Woven Brocade is a 99-centimetre panel handwoven and embroidered on a backstrap loom by Maya women weavers in Guatemala. Each piece is singular, with slight variations in size, pattern and colour that are intrinsic to the making. The brocade carries the mark of individual hands and traditional technique.

Woven in Guatemala from cotton, it is 48 centimetres wide with a vertical repeat of 21 centimetres and a horizontal repeat of 18 centimetres. Dry cleaning is recommended. The cloth suits upholstery and cushions.
