Chinoiserie Royale is a damask first produced by Schumacher in 1910, and the design has been reinterpreted across more than a century without losing its original character. The pattern is formal and symmetrical, woven in satin so the motifs catch light differently from the ground, and the repeat is large enough to need careful placement on upholstery and to read as architecture on full-length curtains.
Woven in India from linen and silk, it is 140 centimetres wide with a 67-centimetre vertical repeat and 70-centimetre horizontal repeat. Dry cleaning is recommended. The cloth suits curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery, and is offered in several colourways.
