Schumacher | Citronier

Citronier is a sprawling floral glazed chintz first produced by Schumacher in the 1930s, its design drawn from a Chinese hand-painted silk panel. The flowers and foliage spread generously across the cloth, the glazed surface giving depth and a gentle sheen that lifts the pattern without flash.

Printed on cotton in the United Kingdom, it is 138 centimetres wide with a vertical repeat of 185 centimetres and a horizontal repeat of 69 centimetres. Dry cleaning is recommended. The scale and character suit cushions and upholstery, where the chintz finish and the pattern's movement can be appreciated at close range.
