Schumacher | Claremont Crewel Embroidery

Claremont Crewel Embroidery is an interlocking pattern stitched in heavy wool yarn onto a cotton ground, the scale large enough to read as graphic geometry from across a room while retaining the textural depth of hand embroidery up close. The technique gives the cloth a dimensional quality, rustic in its craft but refined in its execution.

Made in India from cotton and wool, it is 130 centimetres wide with a vertical repeat of 50 centimetres and a horizontal repeat of 21 centimetres. Dry cleaning is recommended. The embroidered surface suits light upholstery, cushions, curtains and blinds where the pattern can be appreciated in full.
