Conundrum, created with the designer Celerie Kemble, layers a printed loop motif with dense chain-stitch embroidery that traces each outline, so the pattern reads both as ink and thread. The mid-scale geometry works in modern and traditional rooms alike, the hand of the embroidery softening the graphic repeat.
Made in India, the cloth is woven and printed from thirty-one per cent cotton, forty-seven per cent linen and twenty-two per cent rayon, 135 centimetres wide. The vertical repeat is forty-three centimetres, the horizontal thirty-four. Dry cleaning is recommended. It suits upholstery and cushions, where the embroidered detail can be appreciated at close range.
