Schumacher | Custis Orchard

Custis Orchard takes its cue from an eighteenth-century silk velvet waistcoat held in the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation archive, translating a delicate leaf-and-vine motif into a small-scale, allover pattern. The design has a quiet, layered quality that sits comfortably alongside other patterns without competing, the velvet printing technique adding a softness to the surface.

Produced in the United States, the wallcovering is 137 centimetres wide with an 8 centimetre vertical repeat and 9 centimetre horizontal repeat, each roll running to 4.113 metres. It is washable and available in three colourways, suited to rooms where a restrained historical reference is appropriate, or where a fine-scaled pattern is needed to balance bolder elements elsewhere.
