Dahlia Hand Blocked Print is a simple floral motif printed by hand using traditional carved blocks, the process leaving subtle variations in colour and registration that give the pattern its character. The small-scale repeat has a directness that reads as both graphic and handmade.
Printed in Germany on 69-centimetre-wide paper with a ten-centimetre vertical repeat and an eight-centimetre horizontal repeat, it is sold by the metre from rolls just under eight metres long. The surface is washable and suited to wallcovering where a smaller, more intimate pattern with artisanal character is wanted.
