Schumacher | Desna

Desna is a screen-printed pattern of stylised trees, each one rendered with the directness and colour of folk embroidery. The design has its origins in stitched work, and that handmade quality carries through into the printed version, where the forms are simple, the palette unabashed and the overall effect cheerfully decorative without tipping into whimsy.

Made in the United States, it is sixty-nine centimetres wide with a vertical repeat of forty-six centimetres and a horizontal repeat of sixty-nine centimetres. Sold by the metre from rolls of 4.113 metres, the surface is washable and suits walls in rooms where pattern can be given free rein.
