Dorset is a woven ikat made with chunky, space-dyed yarns that give the cloth pronounced dimension and a textured surface. The yarns are washed to soften the hand, so the result is an ikat with weight and body but without stiffness, the dyed pattern reading clearly across the weave.
Woven in Italy from 58% viscose, 22% cotton and 20% linen, it is 136 centimetres wide with a 56-centimetre vertical repeat and a 34-centimetre horizontal repeat. Dry cleaning is recommended. It suits cushions and upholstery, where the textural quality and substantial feel of the cloth come into their own.
