Drapery is a trompe l'oeil design from 1930, created exclusively for Schumacher by Paul Poiret, in which diamond tufting and hanging tassels are printed to give the effect of upholstered walls – a piece of decorative theatre that turns flat paper into illusionistic depth and texture.
It is printed in the United States on a 69-centimetre width with a vertical repeat of 57 centimetres and a horizontal repeat of 23 centimetres. The paper is spongeable and sold by the roll, each 4.113 metres long. It is available in three colourways and suits wallcovering.
