Schumacher | Elbert

Elbert is a basketweave woven with a medium-scale chevron that reads as texture rather than geometry, the diagonal grain giving the cloth a quiet directional movement. The weave has enough incident to lift it beyond a plain but remains fundamentally neutral, the kind of ground that works with pattern or holds its own.

Woven in India from cotton, polyester and viscose, it is 137 centimetres wide with repeats of 42 centimetres vertically and 34 horizontally. Dry cleaning is recommended. The cloth suits upholstery, cushions, curtains and blinds, and its durability makes it appropriate for furniture in regular domestic use.
