Empress Dragon is a chinoiserie scene printed on linen, designed by Mary McDonald after traditional Chinese porcelain. Scrolling dragons move through stylised flowers and border details, the whole rendered with the soft tonal shifts of watercolour rather than hard outline. At mid scale, with an 87-centimetre vertical repeat, it reads as a composed pictorial rather than an allover pattern.
It is printed in the United Kingdom on 100 per cent linen, 137 centimetres wide, with a horizontal repeat that runs the full width of the cloth. Cold washing is recommended. The fabric suits curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery, and is available in several colourways.
