Schumacher | Floribunda

Floribunda is a hand-blocked print on linen, its surface crowded with flowers in the exuberant, layered manner of nineteenth-century English botanical prints. The design has a vertical repeat of 94 centimetres and a horizontal of 62, so the pattern reads as a continuous garden rather than isolated motifs, best seen on curtains or larger upholstered pieces.

Printed in Thailand on pure linen, the cloth is 124 centimetres wide and recommended for dry cleaning. It suits curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery, where the hand-blocked technique and natural fibre give the design both texture and a certain irregularity that distinguishes it from machine printing.
