Gainsborough Velvet is Schumacher's signature cotton velvet, woven with a short, dense pile that catches and holds light to give each colour unusual depth. The texture is plush but controlled, and the sheer breadth of the palette—nearly three hundred colourways—makes it a foundational cloth for upholstery and curtains alike.
Woven in the Netherlands from cotton, it is 140 centimetres wide. Dry cleaning is recommended. It suits curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery across a wide range of interiors.
