Schumacher | Garden Fantasie

Garden Fantasie is a crewel embroidery worked across a linen-cotton ground, the design a naïve menagerie of flowers, birds and beasts stitched in twisted yarns with a variety of techniques that give each motif texture and relief. The scale is large and the palette varied, so the embroidery reads as a tapestry or a piece of folk art stretched across the cloth.

Embroidered in India on a base of linen, cotton, acrylic and polyester, it is 130 centimetres wide with a 120-centimetre vertical repeat and a 130-centimetre horizontal repeat, so the full design spans the width of the cloth. It suits curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery, and dry cleaning is recommended.
