Schumacher | Garden of Hearts

Garden of Hearts pays homage to Victorian playing cards and Lewis Carroll's Queen of Hearts, drawn in ink with cross-hatching and fine linework that echo the original illustrations from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. The large-scale pattern has a folk-art directness and hand-drawn charm, the motifs bold enough to anchor a room without losing their illustrative detail.

Printed in the United States, it is 137 centimetres wide with a 46-centimetre repeat in both directions, sold by the metre from rolls just over nine metres long. Spongeable and drawn in Backdrop's Los Angeles studio, it suits feature walls and larger rooms where a whimsical, graphic pattern is wanted.
