Schumacher | Genoa Damask

Genoa Damask is a traditional damask woven in cotton and linen with a 65‑centimetre repeat, both vertically and horizontally, so the pattern sits square on the cloth. The design has the formal, architectural quality of Italian Renaissance damasks—self‑coloured, relying on the play of light across the weave rather than printed colour. It brings a quiet classicism to a room without announcing itself.

Woven in Italy, it is 81 per cent cotton with linen, 130 centimetres wide. The natural fibre composition and jacquard construction suit it to upholstery on occasional chairs, ottomans and headboards, and to cushions where a more restrained, grown‑up pattern is wanted. Dry cleaning is recommended.
