Schumacher | Gilded

Gilded takes Art Deco geometry and prints it onto velvet with an oxidised metallic finish, so the chevron pattern reads with the patina of aged metal rather than fresh gilt. The effect is quietly dramatic: the pile catches light across the angular repeat while the oxidised printing tempers any shine into something more considered and worn-in.

Woven in Italy from viscose and cotton, it is 141 centimetres wide with a 97-centimetre vertical repeat and 68-centimetre horizontal repeat. Dry cleaning is recommended. The substantial scale and velvet construction suit upholstery and cushions where the pattern can be seen in full and the metallic finish appreciated up close.
