Schumacher | Ginkgo Hand Block Print

Ginkgo Hand Block Print takes the fan-shaped leaf as its motif, arranged in a repeating pattern that recalls the tree in the grandparents' garden that inspired the artist Caroline Z Hurley. The design is printed by hand onto linen, so each length carries the small irregularities that come with the block-printing process, a record of the maker's hand.

Printed in India on pure linen, it is 142 centimetres wide with a vertical repeat of 43 centimetres and a horizontal repeat of 32 centimetres. Dry cleaning is recommended. The linen gives a natural drape suited to curtains and blinds, and it works equally well for cushions and upholstery.
