Great Rock Embroidery takes the polka dot and stitches it by hand onto a linen-cotton union, each dot deliberately irregular so the pattern acquires the character of something made rather than mechanically repeated. Designed by Caroline Z Hurley, it has an artisan quality that softens the geometry, and the embroidery adds both texture and a slight relief to the cloth.
It is made in India from a blend of linen, cotton and polyester, 127 centimetres wide, with a vertical repeat of 39 centimetres and a horizontal repeat of 65 centimetres. Dry cleaning is recommended. The fabric suits upholstery, curtains, blinds and cushions, and is available in several colourways.
