Hatfield Silk Damask is a large-scale damask woven entirely in silk, the pattern emerging through the interplay of satin and matte surfaces rather than colour contrast. The repeat measures 99 centimetres vertically and 67 horizontally, so the design needs space to unfold—it suits generously proportioned upholstery or large cushions where the full motif can be appreciated.

Woven in India by Schumacher, the cloth is 135 centimetres wide and should be dry cleaned. Its composition is pure silk, giving it a characteristic lustre and drape, and it is intended for cushions and upholstery in rooms where fabric is handled with care.
