Heywood alternates bands of tonal chenille with satin in a woven stripe, so the cloth reads through texture and sheen rather than colour contrast. The chenille is soft and absorbent, the satin catches light, and the two together give the fabric a quiet, touchable depth. The pattern is understated enough to work as a near-solid but with more interest than a plain weave.
Woven in Italy from 51% cotton, 26% viscose and 23% polyamide, it is 141 centimetres wide with no repeat given. Dry cleaning is recommended. It suits cushions and upholstery, and the combination of chenille and satin gives it both durability and a soft hand. The design is available in several colourways.
