Iyla Embroidery winds a satin-stitched floral across a fine linen ground, the design built up with chenille yarns and hand-cut fringe so that it acquires both texture and movement. The embroidery is three-dimensional, catching light and shadow as the cloth shifts, and the scale is medium, neither too delicate nor overbearing.
Made in India from 80 per cent cotton and 20 per cent rayon, it is 135 centimetres wide with a vertical repeat of 39 centimetres and a horizontal of 34. Dry cleaning is recommended. It suits curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery where the embroidered surface can be appreciated without heavy wear.
