Izmir Ikat Stripe is woven using traditional ikat techniques, where the intentional irregularity of the hand process becomes the design itself. The blurred, feathered edges of the stripes shift across the cloth, each repeat subtly different from the last, so the pattern reads as organic rather than mechanical. The vertical stripe runs at a 46-centimetre repeat, with a 34-centimetre horizontal repeat, and the variations in dye and weave are intrinsic to its character.
Made in India from 65 per cent linen and 35 per cent cotton, the cloth is 137 centimetres wide and printed. Dry cleaning is recommended. It suits curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery, and is available in several colourways.
