Jilly Velvet Tape, designed by Johnson Hartig of Libertine, takes its zigzag stripe from an eighteenth-century French ribbon fragment and renders it in cotton and spun viscose velvet. The graphic pattern has a six-centimetre vertical repeat and a nine-centimetre horizontal repeat, and the pile shifts in tone as the light moves across the angles of the zigzag.
Made in India, the tape is nine centimetres wide and available in three colourways. Dry cleaning is recommended. It suits upholstery, cushions and curtains, where the velvet texture and bold geometry can be used to define or punctuate an edge.
