Josephine is a tree-of-life design printed on linen, reproducing a late-nineteenth-century original. The pattern shows highly stylised flowers and foliage at a mid-scale, printed using a wet-on-dry technique that allows colours to overlap and build depth. The result is a design with considerable dimension, the layered pigments giving a painterly, hand-worked quality.
Printed in Thailand on pure linen, it is 138 centimetres wide with a vertical repeat of 75 centimetres and a horizontal repeat of 69 centimetres. Dry cleaning is recommended. The cloth suits curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery, and is available in five colourways.
