Schumacher | Kumo Village

Kumo Village depicts a stylised landscape of mountainous islands rising from clouds, with birds swooping through the sky, the whole design rendered in a naïve, almost childlike manner that gives it charm and a sense of storytelling. The imagery is both enchanting and calming, and the composition reads as a scene rather than a repeating pattern, so it brings a sense of place to a room.

Printed in Belgium onto a linen-cotton blend of 55 per cent linen and 45 per cent cotton, the cloth is 138 centimetres wide with a 62-centimetre vertical repeat and a 69-centimetre horizontal repeat. It is machine washable. The cloth suits curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery, where the illustrative quality of the design can be appreciated.
