La Belle takes its cue from the gestural illustrations of Christian Bérard, the twentieth-century artist and designer, and is based on original gouache paintings made in Backdrop's Los Angeles studio. Rotary-printed with layered colour and textural accents, the abstract forms repeat at a medium scale that reads as confident without dominating—playful and graphic in equal measure.
Printed in the United Kingdom, it is 69 centimetres wide with a 91-centimetre vertical repeat and a 69-centimetre horizontal repeat, sold by the roll at just over five metres in length. Washable, and available in three colourways.
