Schumacher | La Belle Matelassé

La Belle Matelassé is a quilted vermicelli weave given a special wash finish that softens the cloth and adds dimension to the surface, so the tight, meandering pattern acquires a gentle, lived-in character. The double width makes it particularly suited to bedspreads and larger pieces of furniture where seams would interrupt the texture.

Woven in Italy from cotton, it is 133 centimetres wide with an 11-centimetre vertical repeat and 17-centimetre horizontal repeat. Dry cleaning is recommended. The matelassé construction suits cushions and upholstery.
