Le Couronnement de la Rosière is a toile de Jouy depicting a pastoral ceremony in which a young woman is crowned with roses, surrounded by figures in eighteenth-century dress beneath trees and classical architecture. The scene is printed at a generous scale, so the narrative unfolds across the cloth with the clarity and detail of an engraving.
Printed in France on pure cotton 168 centimetres wide, it has a vertical repeat of 95 centimetres and a horizontal repeat of 84 centimetres. Dry cleaning is recommended. The cloth suits curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery, and is offered in three colourways.
