Le Matelot is a narrow stripe of cut velvet pile on a cotton ground, woven on a traditional wire loom so the stripe has dimension and a tonal quality as the pile catches the light. The scale is fine and the effect is restrained, more texture than pattern. It belongs to the French Revolution collection.
Woven in India from viscose, cotton and polyester, it is 138 centimetres wide with a horizontal repeat of 8 centimetres. Dry cleaning is recommended. The fabric suits cushions and upholstery, and is available in a number of colourways.
