Les Scènes Contemporaines reworks an eighteenth-century Jean-Baptiste Huët toile by embedding contemporary objects—combat boots, takeaway coffee cups—into vignettes of Athena, Diana and Mercury. The result reads as both classical and knowing, antiquity redrawn with a modern sense of humour.
Made in the United Kingdom from 100% cotton, it is 137 centimetres wide with a vertical repeat of 55 centimetres and a horizontal repeat of 98 centimetres. Dry cleaning is recommended. Available in three colourways, it suits curtains, blinds, upholstery and cushions, and is also available as a wallcovering.
