Lessing is a chenille woven with a small-scale geometric pattern, the pile soft enough to read as texture rather than overt decoration. The design has a modest repeat of three centimetres vertically and four horizontally, so it behaves almost as a solid from a distance while revealing its structure up close, a useful quality for upholstery where pattern needs to recede.
Woven in Italy from viscose, cotton, linen and polyester, the cloth is 137 centimetres wide and recommended for dry cleaning. It is available in three colourways and suits both cushions and upholstery, where the chenille construction provides a soft hand and the mixed fibres give the cloth body and resilience.
