Loose Check begins as a precise grid and then appears to crumple and gather, as though the cloth itself has been bunched by hand. The illusion is printed onto pure linen in light neutral tones, and the effect reads differently depending on distance: orderly geometry close to, painterly disruption from across a room. The vertical repeat runs to 366 centimetres, so the full progression unfolds on long drops.

Woven in the United States from 100% linen, the fabric is 137 centimetres wide with a horizontal repeat that matches the width. Dry cleaning is recommended. It suits curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery, and the scale of the design works best where there is height or breadth enough to show the pattern's journey from order into apparent chaos.
