Schumacher | Love

Love is an embroidered script—'I love you' worked in satin stitch across a plain cotton ground—that reads as graphic, buoyant lettering at an outsize scale. The stitching gives the words relief and texture, and the design has an affectionate, uninhibited character that plays well in both formal and relaxed settings.

Made in India from cotton and viscose rayon, it is 130 centimetres wide with a 39-centimetre vertical repeat and a 64-centimetre horizontal repeat. Dry cleaning is recommended. The cloth suits upholstery, cushions, curtains and blinds, and the large repeat works best where it can be read whole—on a chair back, a long curtain or a generous cushion.
