Malay Damask Print is a soft, traditional damask motif screen-printed by hand onto raw tussah silk, the irregular slub of the ground giving the surface a gentle lustre and tonal variation that shifts across the cloth. The pattern has an understated formality, neither heavy nor precious.
Made in India from pure silk, it is 130 centimetres wide with a 63-centimetre vertical repeat and 65-centimetre horizontal repeat. Dry cleaning is recommended. It suits curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery where a natural, textured ground is wanted.
