Schumacher | Mandevilla Embroidery

Mandevilla Embroidery is a large-scale tree-of-life pattern worked in crewel techniques across a cotton-linen ground, drawn from the Schumacher archive. Melange yarns give the scrolling florals depth and variation, each bloom stitched with its own internal patterning so the design feels loose and contemporary rather than strictly historical.

Made in India, the cloth is 31 per cent linen, 21 per cent cotton and 48 per cent acrylic, 137 centimetres wide. The vertical repeat is 93 centimetres, the horizontal 65 centimetres. Dry cleaning is recommended. It is suited to upholstery and cushions, and the scale works well on larger pieces where the full repeat can be seen.
