Mathis Ticking Stripe takes the familiar narrow stripe of mattress ticking and prints it onto a linen-hemp blend with a running-stitch detail that gives the surface a handworked, textural quality. The two-centimetre repeat is small enough to read as an all-over grain rather than bold geometry, so the cloth sits comfortably in both traditional and relaxed schemes without announcing itself.
Made in India, the fabric is woven from hemp and linen with a small proportion of rayon, 135 centimetres wide with a two-centimetre horizontal repeat. It is printed and should be dry-cleaned. The cloth suits upholstery and cushions, and is available in six colourways.
