Modern Dance Velvet takes its cue from Matisse's paper cut-outs, translating organic amorphous forms into a grid of cut and loop pile. The interplay of textures—some areas recessed, others raised—gives the cloth a subtle sheen and a tactile quality that shifts as light moves across it. The vertical repeat is 22 centimetres, the horizontal 68, so the pattern has a mid-scale presence that suits both furniture and cushions.
Woven in India from cotton and viscose, it is 139 centimetres wide. Dry cleaning is recommended. The cloth is intended for upholstery and cushions, and is available in three colourways.
