Modern Toile takes the form of a traditional scenic toile but scales it up dramatically, with a 177-centimetre vertical repeat that fills a wall or a pair of curtains with a single, room-enveloping composition. Based on Renaissance drawings and layered with mystical references, the design feels both historical and contemporary, the scale giving it a graphic confidence that lifts it out of nostalgia.
Printed in the United Kingdom on 100% cotton, the cloth is 137 centimetres wide with a horizontal repeat that matches the width. It suits curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery; dry cleaning is recommended. The design is offered in four colourways and is also available as wallcovering.
