Monsoon is a horizontal mirror-stripe incorporating traditional Diné symbols of mountains and clouds, a woven prayer for rain created in collaboration with Kevin Aspaas, a Navajo weaver, fibre artist and shepherd based in Shiprock, New Mexico. The medium-scale motifs bring both poetry and texture to a room, the wool-rich cloth carrying the design with weight and presence.
Woven in the United States from 84 per cent wool and 16 per cent cotton, it is 135 centimetres wide with a 27-centimetre vertical repeat and 23-centimetre horizontal repeat. Dry cleaning is recommended. This heavyweight jacquard suits upholstery and cushions, and is offered in three colourways.
