Schumacher | Monsoon Pillow

This cushion is covered in Monsoon, a design created with Kevin Aspaas, a Diné weaver and fibre artist based in Shiprock, New Mexico. The cloth is a horizontal mirror-stripe incorporating traditional Navajo symbols of mountains and clouds, a woven prayer for rain. The pattern has a medium scale and the weave gives it a tactile, textural presence.

Woven in the United States from wool and cotton, the cushion measures 56 centimetres square and is finished with a knife edge. It includes a down and feather insert and a concealed zip. Dry cleaning is recommended. The weight and character of the cloth suit both decorative and everyday use.
