Mrs. Howell, designed by Mary McDonald, is a screen-printed South Pacific motif on chunky natural linen, the printing process giving it a handmade, slightly uneven quality. The design has movement and a graphic confidence that comes from the coarse weave beneath, and the large-scale repeat—91 centimetres vertically, the full width horizontally—means it needs space to be read properly.
Made in the United Kingdom from 100 per cent linen, it is 137 centimetres wide. Dry cleaning is recommended. It suits curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery, and is also available as a wallcovering for those wanting to carry the pattern across surfaces.
