Schumacher | Obscura

Obscura is a cork covering smoked to a rich, burnished tone and flecked with gilt, the surface reading almost like aged metal or oxidised bronze. The material has inherent texture and warmth, the metallic flecks catching light without glitter or obvious shine.

Made in South Korea, it is 91 centimetres wide and sold by the roll of just under three and two-thirds metres. It should be cleaned only by vacuuming with a soft brush. The natural density of cork makes it particularly suited to studies, libraries and dining rooms where a degree of acoustic softening is welcome.
