Schumacher | Painted Circles

Painted Circles is a hand-painted geometric on linen, each circle applied by brush so no two are quite alike. Created for the 250th anniversary of the United States, the design has a loose, gestural quality that softens the large-scale repeat—61 centimetres vertically, 34 horizontally—and gives the cloth an artisanal, one-off character in spite of its graphic structure.

Printed in India on 100% linen, it is 136 centimetres wide. Dry cleaning is recommended. The fabric suits curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery, and is offered in three colourways. The linen ground takes the hand-painted pattern well, and the subtle variations in the circles add depth and interest to larger pieces.
