Schumacher | Palazzo Cinese

Palazzo Cinese is a printed damask on a jacquard-woven ground, the pattern layered so that ornament appears to float over structure. The design carries a formality softened by the linen-cotton base cloth, and at 133 centimetres the vertical repeat is large enough to read as a considered statement on full-length curtains or a generous upholstered headboard.

Woven and printed in Italy, the cloth is 55 per cent linen and 45 per cent cotton, 137 centimetres wide, with a horizontal repeat of 69 centimetres. Dry cleaning is recommended. It suits curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery, the scale and construction lending themselves to pieces where the pattern can be seen in full.
