Papillon Velvet sets silhouettes of butterflies inside an ogee trellis, the whole woven as cut velvet so the pattern reads through changes in pile direction rather than colour. The effect is graphic but gentle, the motifs appearing and receding as the light shifts. At 23 centimetres square the repeat is compact enough to work on smaller pieces without losing the design.
Made in Belgium from viscose and cotton, the cloth is 137 centimetres wide with a vertical and horizontal repeat of 23 centimetres. Dry cleaning is recommended. It suits upholstery and cushions and is woven in several colourways.
