Persephone is a brocatelle weave with a scrolling pomegranate motif rendered in high relief, the pattern standing proud of the ground cloth so it reads as much through shadow as through colour. The weave has an antiqued, slightly worn quality, as though the design has been handled and softened over time, and the pomegranates—a classical symbol of abundance—give it a narrative weight.
Woven in Italy from 65 per cent cotton, 20 per cent linen and 15 per cent viscose, it is 135 centimetres wide with repeats of 41 centimetres vertically and 16 horizontally. Dry cleaning is recommended. The cloth suits upholstery and cushions, and is available in three colourways.
