Plumes et Rubans was designed in 1930 by Paul Poiret exclusively for Schumacher, and it shows champagne bubbles drifting around ostrich feathers and ribbons in a composition that is both playful and assured. The design belongs to the era of art deco confidence, colourful and unapologetically decorative.
Made in the United States, it is 69 centimetres wide with a 55-centimetre vertical repeat and a 69-centimetre horizontal repeat, sold by the roll at just over four metres. The paper is spongeable and suited to wallcovering where a bold, period pattern is wanted.
